It is truly wonderful to listen to the voice of our loved ones telling the stories of their life – an audio recording of your own life story, or a loved ones’, is a priceless, precious memento.
How does it work?
A pre-interview chat will determine what we will cover for the Life Story Audio session (for example, from grandparents to grandchildren, just a career, childhood only), what stories you might like to know more about, and what areas we will not talk about.
Then Felicity will conduct the interview with the life story client, gently guiding the interviewee to draw out memories and stories from their life, across the allocated time. Felicity allows the stories to wander and expand as they will, giving the interviewee time and space to remember – because that’s where the gold is!
The audio recording will be lightly edited to remove any interruptions the interview may have had. The story will be as told (not edited into chronological order). The audio will be transcribed and the raw, editable transcription will accompany the audio.
And you will have your wonderful, very important life stories in both audio and written transcription forever!
Audio Life Stories are charged on an hourly rate of $400 which includes all of the above.
Please note, audio life story interviews must be done in person for good quality audio. Travel costs are added if the interview is outside the Sydney metro area.
