In the fray, feeling grey,
Moving through the midst of this D-day,
As we live with “come what may”
We ask,
R U OK?
Stresses over dresses, messes, guesses, it all presses…
Down.
Hard.
Always…
May He bless us
We ask,
R U OK?
Ask a neighbour, ask your friend
Jump, sink, swim in that deep end
Let them not expend, descend, pretend
Listen… Try and comprehend
As we ask,
R U OK?
They say no… What happens next?
No special effects, pretexts, complex checks,
No nervous wrecks, no ‘you’ll be fine’-rejects…
Just give them your respect.
When you ask,
R U OK?
Ask the kids, the olds, the mids, the id’s in their despair
We need to know that someone cares
Just sit in prayer, sit and stare, be aware,
Know we can share,
The load you bare.
And we ask,
R U OK?
Make a difference to this place, a face, a race, surrounding space,
With your grace.
Step outside your inward looking and selflessly embrace
Maybe… maybe…
We can help when we touch base,
And ask,
R U OK?
