There’s a story inside all of us…

Having a life story written is one of life’s most rewarding experiences. To have someone sit and unreservedly listen as your loved one or yourself reminisces, then to have all those stories recorded for posterity, for family, or for catharsis, is an activity well worth undertaking.

How Does It Work?

A Life Story is as much or as little of the recipient’s life story as you wish to record. Written in the recipient’s voice, (in first person), it is a keepsake for the family, as well as being a gift of respect for the recipient.

The Life Story package includes:

Initial consult between the commissioning person and the Life Story writer
Research on the period and significant events/locations etc of the Life Story recipient.
Formulation of interview questions
A gently guided interview with an experienced lifestyle journalist
Transcription
Writing and structuring the story, whilst keeping the subject’s voice and words
One edit by the commissioning person or Life Story recipient, if desired (checking names, dates, adding clarification to facts within the story, etc)
Up to 30 colour photographs included in relevant placing throughout the story
The professionally written, edited, and formatted Life Story
The final Life Story book, full-colour, printed on finest-quality paper stock, with a hardcover and A4 size.

The process is charged by the hour of interview and includes all of the above. One hour of interview, as a guide, can result in approximately 30 pages of written, edited, formatted, printed, bound and boxed Life Story. (This is a guide only – people speak at different paces; some love a yarn, and others may be more reticent, so it could take longer to draw the stories out, therefor the book might be shorter). The cost is $995 per hour.

A life story starts at $995 for the first hour interview – equating to approximately 20-30 pages of story. Additional hours are at $995 per hour.

Life Story orders are valid for one year after date of purchase (the life story interview must be booked and have occurred within the year after purchase). After this, no refunds are available.
